you add symbol xxx to your portfolio and it has 100 message available. You set the

fetched. Time passes. By the time the DDingo does another fetch, xxx now has 117

What is
a version sync? The version sync is a very important function of the Diligent Dingo. It can be found under then pull down menu 'Configure=>Version Synch' . The Diligent Dingo parsing logic is dependent on the format of the web resources that it fetches. This is especially true of the message board messages. If the format of the web pages changes, this can cause the Diligent Dingo to be unable to parse the web resources correctly. In most of these cases, the Diligent Dingo will simply display the fetched web page without parsing. When this situation occurs an update of the parsing logic will be developed and made available on the www.diligentdingo.com web site a quickly as possible. |
|
How do you identify new
messages that came in for a thread quickly. When you choose a
ticker/board to display, the messages that are prefixed with a "*" character are
unread by you. Also the the ticker board list will have the number of unread messages in
"()". for example if you see and entry like "xxx - Yahoo(22)" this
means that there are 22 unread messages for xxx from the yahoo message boards. |
|
Can I flag a whole
thread as read even if I don't want to read all the msgs? I want to start tracking only
the new ones (like SI and Raging bull) You can 'Mark All Messages As
Read" by selecting a ticker/board for display and then click on the toolbar checkmark
icon. This will mark all the messages as read. The messages list will be redisplayed and
none of the list items will be prefixed with the "*" character. (Hint: If you
move your mouse over the buttons a tool tip will appear that describes what the button
does). Additionally, you can select 'Unread' from the "Filter:" drop down combo
box. This will cause the DDingo to display only the messages that are unread by you. |
|
How can I set the
DDingo to grab just the new messages and news every 5 minutes or so and have the computer
voice lady tell me I have new messages. This can be done by putting the tickers you want to 'monitor' into 'monitor mode'.
|
|
I've fetched a bunch of
message and news. I don't need them anymore. How do I get rid of them? Both the news and message views have a toolbar button that has a drop down menu for purging. In both cases, the menu will let you purge the current item, purge all the read items, or display the purge menu. The purge menu provide full control of deleting messages from all of the message boards, news items, and even the DDingo log message table. When the users submits a purge action, any message or news that has been marked as an
'Archived' item will not be purged. |
