ball13.gif (152 bytes) Fast multi-stream fetching of message boards by ticker symbol from Silicon Investor, Yahoo, Motley Fool, and the Raging Bull message boards for super quick fetching. The DDingo message browser is also designed for the easiest and fastest message browsing possible.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Message fetching is executed asynchronously in the background of the program. This permits the DDingo to be busy fetching new messages while the user can be viewing the already fetched messages, news, charts, and other research.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Message board filtering of unwanted posters. These posters are known as fleas and belong to the flea pack.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Configuration of a favorite poster 'DDingo Pack' filter to display only the messages of your favorite message authors. This feature is a major time saver that provides a 'Virtual Message Board" on heavily posted message boards.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Automatic fetching of charts by ticker from the Yahoo web sites. All of the available charts for a ticker are fetched and collected on one easy to view page, or the charts can be view individually one at at time.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Automatic fetching of charts by ticker from the Big Charts web sites. All of the available charts for a ticker are fetched and collected on one easy to view page, or the charts can be view individually one at at time.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Automatic fetching of ticker news releases. The DDingo currently uses the Yahoo financial site for retrieval of news. This resource provides news from a number of news wire sources including: Reuters Securities, AP, S&P, PR Newswire, Motley Fool, CNN and more... Additional web news resources may be added in the future.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) SEC filings. This feature provides the capability to fetch any SEC document filed by the company that is available on the web. You cannot do Serious Due Diligence without analysis of SEC filings. The DDingo will fetch all available filings, fetch all documents filed since a specified date, or let you pick which filings you need from all the filings available. These documents can be big and there can be quite a number of them. Let the DDingo fetch them for you.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Automatic download of research web pages for stock ticker research. Currently over 20 resources are fetched. Everything from quotes, research, insider trading, analysts reviews, etc.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Automatic fetching of market research pages. These research web pages are also user configurable. Meaning if there is a web resource that you check all the time, you can configure it to be fetched automatically by the DDingo.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Four different modes of fetching messages and other resources. One time research fetch, a scheduled fetch by day of week and time of day, and on a monitor level configurable to a minute resolution.
  • One time 'Research fetch' - The DDingo will fetch all of the configured resources once, and then transition to idle for that ticker. For example you get a tip on a stock and it sounds interesting, but you must do DD. Add the ticker to your portfolio in 'Research' mode and the DDingo will do all the work for you.
  • 'Scheduled' fetch - The DDingo will fetch all of the configured resources according to a flexible user configurable schedule. For example, you own stocks xxx and yyy, and you want to check the news and message boards every morning before you leave for work. Configure xxx and yyy to be in schedule mode(default) and then configure the DDingo schedule to execute a scheduled fetch every weekday at 6:30 AM and at 5:00 PM. At those times the DDingo will fetch all new news, messages and research automatically. You can then view the latest news, messages and research while you are having your morning coffee and the latest information will be waiting for you when you get home from work.
  • 'Monitor' fetch - The DDingo will fetch any new news and messages for any ticker in 'Monitor' mode on interval configurable to a minute resolution. For example, you are not a day trader, but you expect some breaking news about a company that you have an investment in. You can set the company ticker in your portfolio to "monitor' and set the monitor period to 1 minute. Every minute there after the DDingo will check for new news on that ticker. When new news does arrive, and optional sound effect can be played to alert you of its' arrival. The same scenario applies to a company's message board.
  • 'Idle' fetch - This is the mode that a ticker is transitioned to after the initial research fetch. When a ticker is in this mode, no resources will be fetched.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Configurable sound effects to notify the user of the arrival of a new message or news item. The DDingo provide several sound effects for notices of new news or messages, or you can import your own sound files(windows .wav). Alternatively, you can have the DDingo spell out the ticker name in a human voice.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Automatic program version synchronization and updates. This feature permits the DDingo to be easily and readily updated. When any of the web resources change their location or layout, the DDingo can be updated without the need to update the entire program. The version synch menu is used to accomplish the updates. No downloads occur unless directed and approved by the user.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) HTTP Proxy support configuration.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) A delayed portfolio quote monitor is soon to be added.
ball13.gif (152 bytes) Easy to use, intutive interface. The DDingo uses a Microsoft Outlook type interface for an easy, familiar interface.

Key Benefits of  the DDingo

ball13.gif (152 bytes) Ticker Message Board Fetching and Monitoring
  • Support for Yahoo message boards
  • Support for Motley Fool message boards
  • Support for Silicon Investor message boards
  • Support for Raging Bull message boards
  • Automatic fetching of ticker message boards. No more tedious hours spent plowing through message boards online.
  • Messages are fetched using multiple http streams. Using multiple streams permits the DDingo to simultaneously fetch  multiple messages at the same time. The reduces the fetching time tremendously.
  • Message fetching is executed asynchronously in the background of the program. This permits the DDingo to be busy fetching new messages while the user can be viewing the already fetched messages, news, charts, and other research.
  • Only new messages are fetched during each fetching session. You don't need to try to remember where you left off in a message boards thread. The DDingo does this for you.
  • Configuration of a favorite poster 'DDingo Pack' list to display only the messages of your favorite message authors. This feature is a major time saver that provides a 'Virtual Message Board" on heavily posted message boards.
  • Message board filtering of unwanted posters. These posters are known as fleas and belong to the flea pack.
  • Audible alert of new message arrival. The DDingo provide several sound effects for notices of new news or messages, or you can import your own sound files(windows .wav). Alternatively, you can have the DDingo spell out the ticker name in a human voice.
  • Maximum message count filter. This filter is used to limit the maximum number of new messages that are fetched for any one ticker. For example, you are out of the office for a week, return and discover that there are 5000 new message available for one of your portfolio tickers. The Maximum message count filter can be used to limit the number fetched. This filter can be enabled or disabled.
  • Easy to use 'Configure Portfolio' menu to Add/Modify/Remove a ticker from your portfolio. This menu can also be used to fetch older messages for a selected ticker. For example, you fetch 64 message on Yahoo for company xxx, and the thread is very informative, but started before the 64 messages that you fetched. You can use the Configure Portfolio Menu to fetch any number of older messages for the ticker on the Yahoo board.
  • Intuitive message browser provides quick access to all message boards for all tickers
  • Hyperlinks in messages are maintained. Clicking on a hyperlink in a message will spawn your default browser to display the link.
  • Threaded hyperlinks are added to all messages. These links provide a fast easy mechanism for following the thread of a conversation on the boards. Motley Fool is currently not threaded, but will be in a future release.
  • Archive important and informative messages for later reference. A message marked as 'Archived' will not be removed during a database purge activity. This is not completely implemented at this time.
  • Easy re-fetching of messages that failed to fetch successfully. When any browser attempts to fetch a web page on the internet, any number of problems can occur to prevent the successful retrieval of the page. The DDingo is no different. But the DDingo does provide a simple menu selection to re-fetch any and all messages that may have had errors during retrieval.
